Int’l Customs Day today

International Customs Day-2015 will be observed throughout the country today (Monday) with the slogan “Coordinated Border Management: An inclusive approach for connecting stakeholders.”
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has taken up various programmes to observe the day.
 International Customs Organisation plays a big role in developing the
global business reducing the risks for international security, an official of National Board of Revenue (NBR) told the New Nation.
On this occasion, a seminar will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center where the Finance Minister AMA Muhith will be present as the chief guest and NBR Chairman Md Nazibur Rahman will preside the programme.
Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of World Customs Organisation (WCO) in his message said, “I invite all WCO members to promote and share information on their domestic and international coordination efforts with other border entities, including economic operators involved in cross-border trade.”
He said the WCO Members will have the opportunity to promote the enhanced coordination practices and mechanisms that they could implement within their administrations and other Customs Administrations.
