International customs day was observed in the port city in a befitting manner yesterday . In observance of the day, a colourful rally from Ctg customs house premised brought out at 8 am yesterday which paraded the city road which terminated at customs house premises. .
City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin inaugurated the rally of the day as chief guest.
Among others, Member of NBR (IT) Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, convenor of the Customs Day Celebration Committee & Customs VAT Commissioner Golam Kibria, Ctg Customs Commissioner Hossain Ahmed, additional commissioner Azizur Rahman participated the rally, sources said.
In connection of the day, a discussion meet was arranged at customs hall in the morning with Customs commissioner Hossain Ahmed in the chair. Among others, NBR member Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Chamber President Mahbubul Alam, CMCCI President Khalilur Rahman were present in the discussion meet as special guests.
The theme of the ICD was ‘Digital Customs, progressive Engagement’ . Customs & VAT commissioner Syed Golam Kibria presented the keynote paper in the discussion meet, sources said.
