The Walton International Rating Chess Competition began at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Saturday.
First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn formally opened the eight-day long chess meet as the chief guest. Deputy Director of Walton Feroz Alam and General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation Gazi Shayiful Tarique were present at the time.
A total of 140 chess players are taking part in the chess competition.
Tk one lakh and twenty thousand of prize-money will be distributed among the winners.
