The International Literacy Day was observed in Fulbari upazila town of Dinajpur district on Monday in a befitting manner with the theme of “Literacy and Sustainable Development”.
The upazila administration in association with Upazila Primary Teachers’ Association, Bangladesh Advance Students for Interrelation Council (BASIC), Madila Nabin Sangha and World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) chalked out programmes to observe the day.
The programmes included bringing out of a huge colourful rally, discussion meeting on importance of the day, staging of awareness building dramas and colourful cultural function to mark the day.
Led by Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ABM Rawshan Kabir, hundreds of people including parents, government and NGO officials, teachers, students, public representatives, socio-cultural activists and elite participated in the rally.
Later, the Acting UNO presided over the discussion meeting at Fulbari upazila parishad auditorium and Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officer Zahid Ibne Sultan and Officer of Upazila Resource Centre Afzal Hossain addressed it.
Manager of Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of WVB Pabitra B Costa, General Secretary of Fulbari Upazila Primary Teachers’ Association Abdul Alim and representatives of different NGOs also addressed the discussion.
Staff Reporter, Kishreganj reports: The International Literacy Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner. Kishreganj District Administration arrange a discussion meeting , rally and seminar marking the day on Monday.
A discussion meeting on sustainable development for Literacy and skill held at local collectorate Conference room with ADC (Education) Abdul Wadud Chowdhury in the Chair.
It was addressed among others by Principal Md Ruhul Amain, Headmaster Md Abdullah, Megistrate Sumon, Acharza, AC (Land) Habibur Rahman, Headmistrace Shahanaz Kabir and journalist Abdul Kadir.
A colourfull rally was brought out in the town.
Monirampur Correspondent, Jessore adds: International Literacy Day was observed in Monirampur. Upazila administration arranged different programmes to mark the day. A discussion meeting was arranged Upazila Administration. UNO Sharif Nazrul Islam presided over the meeting.It was addressed among others by Upazila chairman Amjad Hosen Lavlu, Vice chairman Lect. Fozlul Haq, Vice chairman(woman) Nazma Khanum, Headmistress Sohal Afroz, Headmaster Bimolindu were present in the programme.
