At least 1349 women were raped and 205 women were murdered by their husbands in domestic violence incidents between January to October this year, a survey report of Ain O Salish Kendra.
Women Affairs Department, NGOs including Kishoreganj district administration chalked out on Wednesday and 15– day long activism campaign aimed at raising awareness about violence against women, children and rape.
Marking the international day the elimination of violence against women on Wednesday and 15 – day long activism campaign.
A human chain formed infront of Kishoreganj Collectorate building demanding stop violence, rape on Wednesday noon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC,ICt& Edu.)Habibur Rahman attended as chief guest while Deputy Director of Women Affairs Mamunur Rashid presided over.
It was addressed among others by Executive Magistrate Obaidur Rahman Sohel, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Mohila Awami League district Secretary Bilkis Began, Popi NGO Manager Faridul Alam and women leader Beauty Began.
