Inter-ministerial meeting for three int’l football meets held

An inter-ministerial meeting was held on Tuesday at the Youth and Sports Ministry conference room for successfully hosting upcoming SAFF U-16 Championship, AFC Championship and AFC U-19 Championship 2016 group A qualifying round matches.
Youth and Sports secretary Noor Mohammad presided over the meeting.
The SAFF U-16 Championship will be held on August 9-18 in Sylhet District Stadium with the participation of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal Maldives and host Bangladesh while AFC U-16 Championship is slated on August 16 to September 20 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) in the city.
Apart from host Bangladesh Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Pakistan U-16 team will compete in the meet.
Besides, AFC U-19 Championship 2016 group A qualifying round matches will be held on September 26 to October 6 at BNS.
Five teams – Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh-will participate in the championship.
In the meeting, the youth and sports secretary sought cooperation to the representatives of concern ministries, associations and divisions to make the events a success.
The concern representatives assured the Sports and Youth secretary to do their duty properly. Bangladesh Football Federation vice president Badal Roy, general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, BFF member Satyajit Das Rupu and concern ministry officials were present on the occasion.
