The Popular Life Insurance 14th Inter-District Women’s Volleyball Competition begins tomorrow at the Dhaka Volleyball Stadium. Bangladesh Volleyball Federation (BVF) will arrange the volleyball meet under auspices of Popular Life Insurance Company Limited.
To mark the ensuing volleyball tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation on Wednesday.
Vice-President of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Mostafa Kamal, Managing Director of Popular Life Insurance Company Limited BM Yousuf Ali, General Secretary of BVF Ashiqur Rahman Miku, Additional Police Super and Chairperson of the Women’s Committee of BVF Syeda Zannat Ara and Treasurer of the Federation Md Sirajul Islam were present at the conference.
A total of 14 teams splitting into four groups will take part in the volleyball meet. They are: Rajshahi District team, Sylhet District team, Kushtia District team, Tangail District team, Manikganj District team, Chuadanga District team, Kishoreganj District team, Satkhira District team, Khulna District team, Narail District team, Magura District team, Chittagong District team, Pabna District team and Rangpur District team.
The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 5,64,000 while Popular Life Insurance Company Limited, the sponsor of the meet will bear all the expenditure to run the meet smoothly.
Senior Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs Dr Md Mazammel Haque Khan will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
The best attacker, the best setter, the best smasher of the competition will be awarded a cash of Tk 10,000 each.
