Inter-District Women’s Kabaddi kicks off

The Inter-District U-15 Women’s Kabaddi competition began on Wednesday at Dhanmondi Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city.
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation general secretary and Deputy Inspector General (administration and discipline) of Bangladesh Police Habibur Rahman formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
In the day’s opening matches, Narail district beat Faridpur district by 2-0 points, Rangamati district defeated Mymensingh district by 2-0 points, Rangpur district outclassed Gopalganj district by 27-21 points and Jamalpur got walkover against Comilla district.
A total of 228 players from 19 district teams from across the country are taking part in the two-day meet, organized by Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association (BWSA).
National Sports Council assistant director Syeda Taslima Akter was present as the special guest.
Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association’s senior vice president Anjuman Ara Aksir presided over the opening ceremony.
Parliament Member Rumana Ali is expected to be present as chief guest in the closing ceremony scheduled to be held today (Thursday) and distribute the prizes.
