Speakers at a review meeting said the victims of human trafficking need integrated support to lessen their plights and vulnerabilities with proper rehabilitation in society. They mentioned that the human trafficking victims are subjected to repression and oppression by their surroundings people. So there should be effective and time-befitting measures for ensuring their access to family and social integration.
They came up with the remarks at district directory review meeting held recently at Hotel Warishan in Rajshahi.
Sachetan Rajshahi, a rights-based organization, arranged the meeting in association with Bangladesh Counter Trafficking in Persons Programme. USAID and Winrock International jointly supported the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Shalahuddin, District Legal Aid Officer Selim Reza, Assistant Commissioners Zishan Bin Mazed and Mamnul Ahmed and Executive Director of Sachetan Rajshahi Hasinul Islam, its Project Coordinator Mahmud-Un-Nabi and Programme Officer Rokshana Parveen addressed the meeting as resource persons.
