The country’s boosting insurance sector is significantly contributing to the national economy, infrastructural development, cutting unemployment side by side with enhancing the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Public Administration Ministry HN Ashiqur Rahman said this at a rally held on Mithapukur College ground in Mithapukur upazila town here on Saturday as the chief guest.
Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company Limited (FILICL) organised the divisional rally for distribution of cheques of Taka 28-crore as death claims and on completion of insurance period among its clients of all eight districts under Rangpur division.
Vice-chancellor of begum Rokeya University Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, Member of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) Gokul Chand Das and Chief Executive officer of FILICL Hemayet Ullah addressed as special guests.
With Chairman of FILICL Nazrul Islam in the chair, Rangpur Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Chhafia Khanom, Member of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Rehana Ashikur Rahman, also spoke on the occasion.
