National Char Alliance has demanded to form an Institutional format like Char Foundation or Char development Board for the betterment of development deprived char dwellers.
The claim was announced on the meeting titled Importance of Institutional Structure for Sustainable Development of Char: Role of Policy Makers recently at CIRDAP auditorium in the city.
Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh National Parliament, Advocate Md. Fazle Rabbi Miah, MP was present as the chief guest at the event. M A Mannan, MP, State Minister, Ministry of Finance and Planning, Moshiur Rahman Ranga, MP, State Minister, Ministry of LGRD, Nuruzzaman Ahmed MP, State Minister, Ministry of Social Welfare, Motahar Hossain MP, Chairman, Parliamentary standing committee, Primary and Mass Education and Md. Mokbul Hossain MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee, ministry of Agriculture was present at the meeting as the special guests.
In the meeting, chaired by Khondokar Ibrahim Khaled, Chairman, National Char Alliance, Former State Minister A K M Zahangir Hossain MP, Abdul MazidKahan MP, Faridul Haque Khan MP, Amatul Kibria Chowdhury MP, Md. Yeasin Ali MP, Golam Mostafa MP, spoke , among others
In the programme Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Mia said, for the betterment of char dwellers, present government has already provide different development work and services. But it remains unused due to the lacking of specific regulations and institutional format.In this situation a char foundation can be formed”. “By the leadership of our prime Minister within the year 2021 we must bring the development deprived impassable char dwellers to the mainstream development flow.” he added.
