Ctg robbery bid: Injured man dies at CMCH

A man, who was injured while resisting a robbery at two gold shops at GPO More in the port city, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Sayed.
Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Mahiuddin Selim said Sayed, a pedestrian, stood against the robbers during the robbery and received injuries.
On Saturday afternoon, at least 10 people, including a jewelry shop owner, were injured as they tried to stop robbers from breaking into jewelry shops at GPO
crossing in the city. Local people said a gang of bandits went to the spot in a microbus and tried to break into two jewelry shops named ‘Aparupa’ and ‘Guinea Gold’ around 8:30 pm.
As the staff of the shops and local people stood against their attempt, the muggers blasted three crude bombs and hurriedly fled the scene, leaving 10 people injured. The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
