Info on fugitive killers updated

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan yesterday said the government has updated information on all fugitive killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and efforts are on to bring back home them.
“Diplomatic efforts are underway to bring back home all the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu who have taken shelter in different countries,” he told a press briefing at his ministry here. The press conference has been arranged after a meeting on security measures ahead of the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15.
Asaduzzaman Khan said the taskforce committee formed by the government on March 28, 2010, headed by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, has been working on it and diplomatic level talks with various countries have been continuing to bring back home the fugitive killers of Bangabandhu and execute the court verdict. “I am working to bring back home all the fugitive convicted killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu as a member of the committee,” the minister said.
The six fugitives are Col (dismissed) Khandaker Abdur Rashid, Lt Col (relieved) Shariful Haque Dalim, Maj (retd) Noor Chowdhury, Maj (retd) Rashed Chowdhury, Capt Abdul Majed and Risaldar Moslehuddin Khan.
Five of the convicts-Syed Farooq Rahman, Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Bazlul Huda, AKM Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Mohiuddin Ahmed-were hanged on January 27, 2010. While another killer, Aziz Pasha, died in Zimbabwe in 2001.
Noor is now in Canada, Rashed in the USA and Moslehuddin in Germany.
