With an increase in coronavirus cases in Bangladesh, the Industries Ministry on Sunday announced safety measures and opened a WhatsApp group for communication and exchanging information among its officials, staff and organisations under it.
Ministry officials and chiefs of departments have
been told to communicate over online apps, said a handout from the ministry.
It has already started producing hand sanitiser from Carew and Company Bangladesh at Darshana in Chuadanga, it said adding that the ‘Carew’s Hand Sanitiser’ will be available in markets from Monday.
A control room has been set up at the Ministry Building in Motijheel area in the city. Deputy Secretary Pratul Kumar Saha has been made the focal person of the control room.
Any department, branch, organisation/corporation under the Ministry can communicate with the focal person through hotline numbers +88029558413, +8801720 098 361 and an email [email protected].
Checking officials’ and workers’ body temperature with thermal scanner at field office, district office, industries, factories, and industrial offices was made compulsory.
The ministry has ordered sending on leave anyone having symptoms of coronavirus and let him/her to go in self-quarantine instantly.
Industries Ministry has directed to limit all official meetings to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Ministry officials are directed to communicate over intercom, telephone, email and e-paper.
Bangladesh on Saturday announced the second coronavirus death and detection of four new coronavirus patients, raising the number of such cases in the country to 24.
