Indo-Bangla trade seminar held

The event was attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of India, Dr. Adarsh Swaika as the Chief Guest and the President of CCCI Mahbubul Alam and immediate past president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Matlub Ahmed as special guests.
Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) in association with High Commission of India, Dhaka organized a seminar on ‘India-Bangladesh Trade and Commercial Relations: Special Focus on waterways connectivity and coastal shipping’ in Chittagong on Tuesday.
 The event was attended by the Deputy High Commissioner of India, Dr. Adarsh Swaika as the chief guest, and the President of CCCI Mahbubul Alam, and immediate past president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Abdul Matlub Ahmed. The seminar saw good participation from the Chittagong business community, particularly of those from the shipping industry.
 A presentation was made by the commercial representative, High Commission of India giving an overview of the trade and commercial relations between India and Bangladesh and also of recent developments under the Protocol on Inland Waterways Trade and Transit and Coastal Shipping (PIWTT) Agreement.
The business community also shared its experience of operating vessels under the PIWTT and the Coastal Shipping frameworks.
