Staff Reporter :
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Monday accused the government of hatching conspiracy to isolate BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia from the world.
“The jail administration did not give permission to Khaleda Zia’s relatives to meet her although three weeks elapsed. According to jail code, the relatives can meet a prisoner once in a week, but none of the BNP chairperson’s relatives got permission to meet her for long. It is really unfortunate and painful. Such unkind behaviour is tantamount to mentally torture Khaleda Zia and her relatives,” said Rizvi in a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan office in the capital.
Rizvi said, not only her relatives and party men are anxious about her, the whole nation is extremely anxious and worried.
The BNP leader claimed that ‘such unwanted behaviour may not be found even in any autocratic rules country in the world.
He also criticized Prime Minister’s Advisor HT Imam’s recent comments that the pace of 11th Parliamentary election would continue in future polls.
Rizvi said, the ruling party leaders have become blind and know not what voting rights are.
BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Nazmul Haque Nannu and party’s Assistant Office Secretary Munir Hossain, among others, were present.
