A high-level meeting between Bangladesh and Indian Coast Guards to explore avenues for common approach to maritime issues in the region
was held at the Indian Coast Guard headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.
The meeting will also explore avenues to operate rescue and training by both sides.
Director General Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral A M M M Aurangzeb Chowdhury led the three-member Bangladesh delegation at the four-day meeting, said a press release.
At the meeting, Aurangzeb briefed the vision of the two countries

At the meeting, Aurangzeb briefed the vision of the two countries
about the maritime security with his Indian counterpart.
He said, both countries will be benefited from such visit and view exchange programme.
They also discussed SOP and MoU that was signed in 2015 to enhance bilateral cooperation.
The Coast Guard DG said, cooperation between two countries will ensure the safety of fishermen in distress at sea, protection of marine environment and security of coastal areas.
President of Bangladesh Coast Guard Poribar Kollyan Sangha Begum Afroza Aurangzeb Chowdhury also visited India by the invitation of Indian Coast Guard.
DG Aurangzeb Chowdhury will meet Indian Naval chief during this visit.
