An indigenous couple sustained bullet injuries by their rivals over a land dispute at Gourangapara under Matiranga upazila early Thursday.
The injured are- Jyoti Bikash Chakma, 34 and his wife Reni Chakma.Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Matiranga police station, Mainuddin Khan, said both husband and wife were injured when their rivals opened fire on them over a disputed land.Locals rushed both of them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital here they are undergoing treatment.
However, locals caught Ripon Mia, 25, son of Ali Akber of neighboring Bazartilla Para red handed for his alleged involvement in the crime.
Later he was handed over to police.
This has happened centering previous enmity over land, the OC said.
