The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday set today (Tuesday) to hold hearing on whether to frame charges of crimes against humanity against five alleged Razakars from Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj.
Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the three-member panel of ICT, set the date.
The five accused are advocate Shamsuddin Ahmed, his brother Md Nasiruddin Ahmed, Gazi Abdul Mannan, Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam. Of them, Shamsuddin is now in custody.
Earlier on May 13, the tribunal took seven charges against them into cognizance.
According to the prosecution, the accused had carried out gruesome crimes against humanity in Bidyanagar, Aila, Fatergup Beel, Piraton Beel and adjacent areas under Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj in 1971.
