The Customs authority seized one truck of Indian high quality three pieces, and Import ban drugs worth TK.50 lakh in Benapole Port on Sunday night.
Abdur Rashid Mia, Joint Commissioner of Benapole Customs house informed, received secret information a truck imported under false declaration from India, was unloading 175 cartons at transshipment yard of the port at night, customs official search the truck and seized huge Indian high quality three pieces, and import ban drugs worth Tk 50 lakh under false declaration.
The importer of the consignment is M/s. Siam Enterprise of Benapole. The Indian exporter is Mandal International. Swadesh Trade International, a C&F Agent was delivered the Consignment.
The goods are being counted till the writing of this report. He said the seized goods would be confiscated in favor of the state and action would be taken against importers and C&F agents.
Customs sources said that importers have been coming up with crores of taka in revenue in the same way for a long time. The whole matter is under investigation.
