An Indian fishing trawler along with its 13 fishermen was seized from the Bay of Bengal within Bangladesh water territory near the Fair Buoy by the members of Bangladesh coastguards at Saturday night (at about 12-25 pm).
Lt. Cornel Amirul Haq, Media Officer of the coastguards of the Western Zone deployed Mongla told, on the night while a contingent of the coastguards were discharging their normal petrol duties in the Bay of Bengal by a coastguard ship CGS Sonar Bangla found an Indian fishing trawler catching fish illegally from the Banglades water territory near at Fair Buoy. But with the appearance of the coastguard-ship the fishing trawler tried to flee away.
But the coastguards chased and seized it. The seized Indian fishing trawler along with its 13 fishermen was handed over to Mongla PS by the coast guards on Sunday afternoon for taking legal action. On Monday the arrested Indian fishermen were sent to jail hajat at Bagerhat through the court.
