Indian cricket team arrives today to play 3 ODIs

A 15-member youthful national cricket team of World champions India, led by Suresh Raina, will arrive here tomorrow (Friday) morning on a weeklong tour to play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.The Indian team will play three day/night basis ODI matches on June 15, 17 and 19, all at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, before departing Bangladesh on June 20.India is sending a youthful team to Bangladesh resting most of the regular players, including skipper MS Dhoni, stand-by captain Virat Kohli, former captains Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, and key players Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami.Robin Uthappa earned an expected national comeback for good performance in the just concluded IPL while Wriddhiman Saha was called up to replace Dhoni as the wicketkeeper.Varun Aaron, Stuart Binny, Amit Mishra, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu were the only players retained from the Asia Cup squad with so many players resting, India’s ensuing tour to Bangladesh was in principle agreed upon between the two boards at the time of Future Tour Plan negotiations in last February.India squad: Suresh Raina (capt), Robin Uthappa, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ambati Rayudu, Manoj Tiwary, Kedar Jadhav, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Parvez Rasool, Akshar Patel, R Vinay Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Stuart Binny, Mohit Sharma, Amit Mishra.
