India is keen to provide all-out cooperation to Bangladesh in its development efforts, said visiting Speaker of Indian Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan.
The Lok Sabha Speaker made the remarks when she met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Saturday.
During the meeting, Sumitra said Bangladesh has made a significant progress in socioeconomic development.
President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
She also apprised the President of different aspects of the ongoing two-day South Asian Speakers summit being held in the city and said all have to work together for the development of South Asia region.
Abdul Hamid said the recent high-level visits between Bangladesh and India have cemented the relations between the two countries, and hoped that the relations would be strengthened in the days to come.
Abdul Hamid thanked Sumitra as the Indian parliament unanimously passed the Land Boundary Agreement.
