Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh will take on India in their second Pool-A match of the Hero Asia Cup Hockey at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today. The match starts at 5.30 pm.
Earlier, Bangladesh had an unhappy start as they lost to Pakistan by 7-0 goals in their first Pool-A match at the same venue on Wednesday last.
On the other hand, India, the powerhouse of world hockey made a good start as they defeated Japan by 5-1 goals in the inaugural match at the same venue on the same day.
Marking the upcoming match, Coach of Bangladesh team Mahbub Harun said, ” Bangladesh could not play according to their plan against Pakistan. The players made some mistakes to mark the players. Bangladesh made too much mistakes after two quarters. India are good side no doubt. We shall start a fresh against India. My boys have to execute the technique against India. The boys have to perform their best. They have to forget the past.”
Coach of India team Sjoerd Mrjine said, ” I saw some part of Bangladesh’s match against Pakistan. They made some mistakes against Pakistan. I do not disclose those mistakes now. Though Bangladesh lost to Pakistan in a big margin but I think they have ability to bounce back against India. It will be misjudgment if we think that Bangladesh are weak side. We want to retain our winning streak.”
Bangladesh faced India last in 2016 at the SA Games in Guwahati, India. India won the match 4-1.
