India reached the final of the ICC Champions Trophy defeating Bangladesh by nine wickets in the second semi-final at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Thursday. India will face Pakistan in the final at the Oval on June 18.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 264 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
In reply, India coasted home making 265 runs for the loss of one wicket remaining with 59 balls.
India made a solid start as openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on together 87 runs before Shikhar Dhawan was caught at the point by Mosaddek Hossain off Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.
After dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli built another remarkable partnership. They added together 178 runs for the unbroken second wicket stand.
Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten with 123. His 129-ball innings was studded with 15 fours and a sixer, while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten with 96. His 78-ball knock was ornamented with 13 fours.
Shikhar Dhawan hit a remarkable 46. His 34-ball innings was decorated with seven fours and a sixer.
Earlier, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim restored some parity for Bangladesh scoring 70 and 61 runs respectively.
Kedar Jadhab, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar captured two wickets each for 22, 39 and 53 runs respectively.
Rohit Sharma was adjudged the Man of the Match.
