India Edn Fair begins in city

A two-day education fair, titled ‘India Education Fair, 2016’, began in the city to provide educational opportunities to Bangladeshi students at their doorstep.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla inaugurated the fair, the third of its kind, at The Daily Star Convention Centre saying education is the most important part of people-to-people contact between the two countries. He said Bangladesh is making rapid strides towards its
goal of developing into a modern economy and India is committed to being a close partner in this endeavour and progress.
“Education remains a high priority area in this regard,” said the High Commissioner highlighting India’s resolve to work together with Bangladesh in the education sector. He hoped that the India Education Fair would help raise awareness about the possibilities of education in India and serve as a platform to bring the youth of India and Bangladesh closer to each other through high quality professional educational opportunities.
The High Commissioner congratulated the organisers for the initiative and conveyed his best wishes for the success of the Fair. “We’ve a very good response from our Bangladeshi friends.”
The fair will also be held in Chittagong on August 1-2. SAPE Events and Media Pvt. Limited, a leading educational fair organizer in the region, is hosting the fair with the support of the High Commission of India, Dhaka. SAPE earlier successfully organised similar education fairs in Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam and Cambodia, in addition to Bangladesh.
Over 30 premier educational institutions, including schools, colleges and technical institutes across India are participating in the event. Apart from bringing students and best of educational institutions under one roof, the event also helps the aspirants and the guardians to have detailed discussions about the facilities and fee structures of participating Indian institutions and schools along with expert guidance on available choices.
It also facilitates an easy comparison to make an informed decision, best suited as per individual needs.
Apart from free entry and free counseling at the Education Fair, the students would also get the opportunity to avail themselves of the benefits of free career aptitude test.
The test would assess and map more than 250 skill attributes of an individual and would identify the professional areas in which the student could excel. The report would include the individual attributes mapping, preferred profession(s) and course suggestion. The students could also use this platform to avail of scholarships and on-the-spot admissions.
