India beat Pakistan 3-1

In a Titans’ battle, top-ranked India beat their arch-rivals Pakistan by 3-1 goals in a tense group deciding match of the eight-nation Hero 10th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey at the floodlit Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here on Sunday.
With the day’s feat, India smartly reach the super four stage of the prestigious meet with all-win record securing full nine points from straight outings following their 5-1 victory against Japan and 7-0 win over hosts Bangladesh..
On completion of the four-team Pool B matches, Pakistan and Japan have secured four points each from all the three outings, but Pakistan managed the super four berth by virtue of better goal difference of 10-5 against Japanese 6-8. Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 7-0 goals and played 2-2 draw with Japan.
Bangladesh remained in the bottom of the four- team fray without any point conceding 17 goals against scoring only one goal against Japan.
In the day’s crucial match, Chinglensana Kangujam, Ramandeep Singh and Harmanpreet Singh scored one each for India in the 2nd and 3rd quarters while Ali Shan scored the face-saving goal for Pakistan in the 4th quarter of the match.
Chinglensana Kangujam put India ahead in the 17th minute by a powerful hit after a barren first quarter (1-0) while Ramandeep Singh doubled the margin in the 44th minute connecting the ball home from close (2-0).
