MOU and Franchise signing ceremony between Index Holdings Ltd and Best Western Hotels and Resorts, USA was held at Westin Hotel. Atul Jain, COO (Sorrel Hospitality) and Md Mamunur Rashid FCMA, Dy. Managing Director of Index Holdings have signed the agreement on behalf of their respective company.
As per agreement Index should provide at least 700 rooms of 3 star, 4 star and 5 star category hotels in next 3 years. Out of which 210 rooms already been signed at Dhaka, Rajshahi and Sylhet areas. The investment of the hotel will be under joint venture through local & foreign financing.
This ceremony took place in the presence of Honorable Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu MP and Guest of Honor Ronald Pohl, COO, Best Western Hotels & Resorts, USA, Atul Jain, COO, Sorrel Hospitality Ltd India, Index Companies’ Chairman Architect Md Mazherul Quader, Managing Director Mahin Mazher, Dy. Managing Director Md. Mamunur Rashid FCMA and high officials from both companies’.
Representatives from the business community, investors, financial institutions, hotels& tourism and high officials from various ministrieswere also present in this program. The Minister mentioned the socio-economic development of Bangladesh and the opportunities in the tourism sector. He hopes that the tourism sector of our country can play a vital role in our economic growth in the near future. He thanked both the companies for this initiative and hopes it would contribute in the development of our tourism sector.
