Index at bourses rise, transaction slide

Country’s two bourses closed on Tuesday registering the rise of most of the shares’ price, but Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a deceased amount of transactions.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 19.09 points up at 5,522.17. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 3.49 points up at 1,281.15 and with 5.89 points rise at 1977.53.
The daily trade went down on Tuesday to 412.52 crore of 9,03,09,296 shares which was Taka 11 lower that of Monday’s transaction of Taka 423.98 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 349 companies and mutual funds, 183 registered higher price while 106 was losing issue and 60 remained unchanged.
The major gaining issues were united insurance, united finance, premier leasing and finance, union capital, federal insurance, sun life insurance, al-haj textile mills limited, midas financing, fas finance and investment and prime insurance company limited.
The major losing companies were aramit cement, vanguard aml bd finance mutual fund one, samata leather, mercantile insurance, dulamia cotton spinning, global insurance, exim bank 1st mutual fund, ICB amcl, jamuna bank and pragati life insurance.
Besides, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day with CASPI 49 points up at 16,932.
At CSE, 243 issues were traded. Of those, 114 closed higher while 84 closed lower and 45 remained unchanged.
