On the occasion of marking Independence Day Gulshan Youth Club is going to organise a two-week long tennis tournament under the title ‘Northern Hatcheries Independence Day Inter Club Tennis Tournament 2015’ from April 2 at Gulshan Youth Club Playground in the capital. Northern Hatcheries will sponsor the tournament.
A total of 22 teams including 15 teams from Dhaka and rest seven from outside the capital will participate in the tournament. Final of the tournament is scheduled to be held on April 12.
The participating teams are: Azimpur Tennis Club, Army Officers’ Tennis Club, Bagerhat Tennis Club, Bangladesh Police Club, Bagha Club, Cox’s Bazar Tennis Club, Dutch Club, Engineers’ Recreation Club, Gulshan Club, Gulshan Youth Club A, B and C, Manikganj Tennis Club, Magura Tennis Club, Mymenisngh Tennis Club, Munshiganj President Raja Tennis Club, Navy Club, Netrokona Tennis Club, Officer’s Club Team 1 and 2, Parliament Members’ Club and Uttara Club.
This was announced at a press conference held at the Conference Room of National Tennis Complex in the city’s Shahbagh area on Monday.
Senior Vice President of Gulshan Youth Club Humayun Kabir read out a written statement to brief about the tournament, while General Secretary of the club Md Shawkat Hossain, EC members Zahid Iftekhar Pasha and Shariful Islam and Khaled Salauddin also spoke in the press conference.
It may be mentioned that The New Nation and Radio Today are media partners of the tournament.
