BRU

The Independence and National Day- 2018 was celebrated at Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur through colourful programmes amid huge festivity and fanfare on Monday. The university authority and different organisations chalked out various programmes to celebrate the day with a fresh promise for building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The programmes included placing wreaths at the temporary “Independence Memorial”, hoisting of the national flag, ‘Swadhinota Shobhayatra’, tree plantation, blood group test, book fair, drawing and sports competitions, prize distribution and cultural functions.
BRUVice-chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO first placed wreaths at the temporary “Independence Memorial” on the campus at one- minute past midnight last night to pay due respect to the martyrs of the War of Liberation.

RU

Independence day of of the country was observed at Rajshahi University (RU) amid respect and great honor by paying homage to the martyr freedom fighters, by whom this independent country was figured in 1971.
The university authority led by its Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md. Abdus Sobhan and Pro-VC Prof Ananda Kumar Saha placed floral wreaths at university Shaheed Minar at the very first minute of the day.

BUP

Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) celebrates the Independence and National Day with various day-long programmes on Monday at its campus.
The daylong programme included special prayers for the martyrs, seeking peace, prosperity, progress for the nation, discussion meeting on Independence & National Day and colorful programme with the participation of BUP students. Later on, a discussion was held at Bijoy Auditorium where Vice Chancellor Major General Md Emdadul-Ul-Bari, ndc, psc, te was present as chief guest. The discussion was held under BUP Literature and Debate Club with the presence of BUP Pro-VC Prof M Abul Kashem Mozumder, PhD, BUP high officials, teachers and students.

IU

A discussion meeting was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday on the occasion of March 26 the Independence Day and National Day 2018.
The authority of Islamic University organised the event at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman auditorium of the campus. Joint general secretary of Awami Leauge M Mahbub-Ul Alam Hanif MP addressed at the discussion ceremony as the chief guest with IU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair.

CoU

Comilla University (CoU) authority celebrated the Independence and National Day on Monday with due respect. The events of the day included hoisting of national flag atop all residential halls and at the University administration building in the morning, proceeding towards Central Shaheed Minar of the Campus to pay tributes at 9.30 am and offering wraths at Bangabandhu Memorial at 11:00 am.

Southeast University (SEU) organized a Discussion Program and Cultural Event on the occasion of “98th Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Independence Day 2018” on Tuesday at University Seminar Hall.
Famous Novelist Selina Hossain, Chairman, Bangladesh Shishu Academy was present in the program as the chief guest. The program was chaired by Prof Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice Chancellor of SEU while M Kamaluddin Chowdhury, Representative Member, Board of Trustees, SEU was the guest of honor. At the event Prof Dr Md. Abu Taher, Dean, SBS; Maj Gen (Retd.) Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, Registrar; Deans; Chairs; faculty members and officials along with a large number of students were present.

CUB

The 48th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh has been observed at Canadian University of Bangladesh in a befitting manner. Performing of the National Anthem program was arranged on this occasion at Banani Campus of the university as a part of countrywide program of performing of the National Anthem of Bangladesh.

EU

Eastern University (EU) celebrated Independence and National Day with due solemnity at EU Seminar Hall on Monday. Lt General M. Harun-Ar-Rashid (Retd.), Bir Pratik, Former Chief of Army Staff, Bangladesh Army was present as the Chief Guest of the program. Engr. Kh. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, EU was present as the Guest of Honor. Mr. Abul Khair Chowdhury, Former Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of EU and Mr. Md. Ali Azzam, Chairman, Admission Committee, graced the occasion as Special Guests. The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University. Deans of Faculties, Chairpersons of Departments, Faculty Members, representatives of different clubs and forums of the university, and hundreds of enthusiastic students attended the program.

ULAB

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated Independence Day at its own campus on Wednesday. ULAB celebrated this day with a discussion and cultural program. The program started with opening speech by Dr. Rafiqul Islam, ULAB Emeritus Professor. Squadron Leader Liaqat Ali Khan (Retd.), Bir Uttam, was present as the Chief Guest. He shared his practical experience how he involved in the liberation war in 1971 and how he fought against Pakistani oppressors.
ULAB Shangskriti Sangsad performed songs and ULAB students also recited poetry in the ceremony. ULAB Treasurer Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee gave a vote of thanks at the conclusion.
