Speakers emphasized on formulation of a Participatory and inclusive national implementation plan for SDGs in line with the 2030 agenda adopted by the United Nations. They passed the importance at a “Meet the Press” held at the National Press Club today jointly organised by VOICE, a development research organisation, NOW SDGs and Beyond 2015, a global civil-society platform, advocating for sustainable development goals. Ahmed Swapan Mahmud, executive director of VOICE, made a keynote presentation where he opined political will is indispensable to start implementation of the 2030 Agenda at national, sub-national and local levels, including introducing clear plans and timelines for participatory implementation at national and local levels.
He made recommendation to formulate a national sustainable development strategy for SDGs implementation through a participatory process, including people experiencing poverty and marginalization.
