Two bus passengers were killed and 25 others injured after a train smashed the bus at Baroiyarhat Level Crossing in Mirsarai upazila early Sunday. One of the deceased was identified as Sunimal Chakma. The accident took place when the Chattogram-bound ‘Bijoy Express’ hit the Khagrachhari-bound bus of ‘S Alam Paribahan’ around 4 am,
leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Robiul Azam, station officer of Mirsarai Fire Service and Civil Defence. Rail communications on Dhaka-Chattogram route were disrupted for two and half hours following the accident.
