Imran H Sarker’s nomination papers rejected

The Kurigram returning officer has rejected Ganajagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker’s application to run for the Kurigram-4 seat due to errors on the list of supporters.
Deputy Commissioner Sultana Parveen, who is serving as the returning officer, announced that his application is rejected during the scrutiny by election officials on Sunday.
According to the rules, an independent parliamentary candidate has to show proof of support by including signatures from 1 percent of the voters in the
constituency in order to qualify.
Imran, a former Chhatra League activist, had submitted a nomination from as an independent candidate to contest the Kurigram-4 constituency.
“I had attached the sufficient numbers of signatures during the submission of form. But the officers said the list was disorganised and the serial was wrong. This kind of mistake can be corrected.
