Impulse Hospital bring S’pore medical facilities in Dhaka

Impulse Hospital of the city has brought renowned and distinguished physicians from Singapore to give treatment to the patients sufferings from various diseases.
“It is highly expensive in every account to take medical treatment abroad. To save valuable lives and hard earned foreign currency, the hospital authority has taken the step,” said Professor Dr. Ali Zaheer Al-Amin, Managing Director (MD) of Impulse Hospital on Saturday while addressing a press conference in the hospital’s conference room.
He said, the doctors from Mount Elizabeth Hospital, National University Hospital and other renowned hospitals of Singapore have agreed to come to Dhaka regularly.
They will impart trainings also to Bangladeshi physicians.
The Singapore physicians agreeing to give treatment at Impulse are Neurosurgeon Professor Dr. Timothy Lee, Endoscopic Gynaecologist Dr. Yap Lip Kee, Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Tan Kok Soon, Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Tay Leslie, Orthopedic and Trauma Surgeon Dr. Chang Wei Chun, Orthopedic and Spine Surgeon Dr. Chong Lich Leslie and Cardiac Surgeon Dr. James Wong, among others.
Professor Dr. Ali Zaheer Al-Amin said, now it will be easy to conduct complicated surgeries in brain, heart and lungs.
Replying to a query, the MD of the hospital said, the treatment cost will be Tk10 lakh in a difficult cardiac surgery which is one third of treatment cost in Singapore.
Dr. Md. Towfique Islam, a Bangldeshi physician working as a Senior Consultant in Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for long said, “It is very tough to go abroad for taking emergency treatment. In this view, it is very happy news that the Singaporean physicians have agreed to give medical treatment at Impulse Hospital in Dhaka. I think the Impulse Hospital has taken a good decision for Bangladeshi patients.”
Dr. Dabir Uddin Ahmed, the Chief Operating Officer (CEO) of Impulse Hospital said, “When any Bangladeshi needs higher treatment abroad, he needs to arrange passport, visa and attendants. It is not easy to to manage everything within short time. We are trying to minimize those problems, bringing those physicians in Dhaka.”
Replying to a query, the CEO said the Singaporean physicians will be available whenever the patients need.
In emergency cases, they shall come here in short notices. They will also be available through skype whenever it needed.
