Import-export activities resume thru’ Hili Land Port’

Normal import and export activities resumed from Saturday through the Hili Land Port (HLP) in Dinajpur after the six-day vacation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, official sources said.
According to the sources in Customs, importers, clearing and forwarding agents association (C&FAA) at HLP, all sort of import- export activities remained suspended through the land port from July 27 to August 1.
General Secretary of C&FAA of HLP Abdur Rahman Litan told BSS this afternoon that all activities including imports, exports, customs clearance, loading and unloading of the goods resumed from this noon.
“Twenty-four goods-laden trucks from India have already reached Bangladesh through the HLP from 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturday and the process continues,” Litan informed BSS at 4.05 pm.
However, movement of passport and visa holder Bangladeshi and Indian nationals remained normal through the Immigration Check Post at the HLP during the vacation despite closure of import and export activities, the sources said.
