Chattogram Bureau :
In order to make Bangladesh ship re-processing industry safer and more environmentally friendly, 200 TOT and 700 workers will be trained at Sitakundo Ship Breaking Yard.
The training workshop will be conducted under the supervision of Safe and Environmentally Sound Ship Recycling Project of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) through the Norad Fund of the Ministry of Industry.
Recycling workers will be trained in the ship reprocessing. The first phase of the project has already been completed.
On Tuesday (September 24), the training of thirty three participants has began at Bangladesh Marine Academy.
Chief guest was Md. Abul Khair , Deputy Secretary ,Ministry of Industry and the project director of the National Senrake, Acting President of BSBRA. Zahirul Islam Rinku, was present as guest of honour, Mizanur Rahman , Deputy Secretary ,Ministry of Industry was present as Special guest , Captain Kazi ABM Shamim conducted the training programme , Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Abul Kashem, Shahin Alam Tipu were also present at the meeting.
