Bangladesh Cricket (Test) squad left Dhaka for Zimbabwe on Tuesday to take part in the lone Test match against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club Ground in Harare of Zimbabwe. The only Test match between Bangladesh and the hosts will be held on July 7 to July 11. The match will start at 1.30pm.
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will join the Test squad from United States of America (USA). Shakib is now in USA with his spouse and children to spend his leisure. All the coaching staff including Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Russell Domingo will join the Test squad.
Bangladesh team will play a two-day practice match on July 3 and July 4. The practice match venue and the opponent team of Bangladesh yet to be finalized.
Bangladesh Test squad: Mominul Haque (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Sadman Islam, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad, Liton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Abu Jayed, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Shoriful Islam.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mominul Haque said to a local website , ” I’m confident if our regular players play, we shall win over Zimbabwe. I am satisfied with our pace attack. We have also spinners, who are up to the mark.”
He said, “We are not going to Zimbabwe with a perfect preparation. Before taking part in the lone Test match, we shall get seven days to practice and adapt with the conditions of Zimbabwe. I hope Mushfiqur Rahim and Tamim Iqbal will play the Test match. They will recover from injury before the Test match. Without inclusion of Mushfiq and Tamim in our squad, it will be a tough task for me. In absence of Tamim and Mushfiq, the junior players have to take responsibility.”
