In a short span of time, Ihana Dhillon has made a mark in the film industry. She started her career with Punjabi cinema and today she is also working in Bollywood. She was last seen in Bollywood film Hate Story 4, and her character won lots of accolades. In a conversation, Ihana revealed her future plans. Read on:
How did `Hate Story-4` happen?
I was shooting in Punjab when I got a call directly from T-series casting team. After having a couple of meetings with them I was signed for this project. I kind of hesitated initially but I’m glad I took the right decision by signing Hate Story 4.
You work in both Punjabi and Bollywood industry, how do you manage?
I’m a workaholic person and I love my job. It gets a little difficult to handle both the things simultaneously as I have to travel a lot but Punjab is home and it’s a different feeling to be there, plus I’m very passionate about my work so it keeps me going.
Which is that one role which you would love to portray on screen?
I like Historical subjects a lot so I would love to work with a script along those lines. I enjoy real stories and portraying real characters on screen comes with lots of responsibility so I want to be fully prepared for that before I take up any such projects.
What kind of movies or roles would you like to do in the future?
As I mentioned before I like real characters and historical movies so yes, I would definitely want to try my hands at that.
There is a lot of competition in the industry and there are many newcomers who are doing great work, how do you deal with the pressure?
I’m a very balanced person. Struggle and competition are there in every industry. But I’m so glad to see that there are so many new and young talents entering this field. I love my work and it is my passion. Patience and passion are the two keywords you should know if you are coming to this industry. I would say you do your work, give your 100% and leave the rest on your destiny.
We have heard that you are very active with social causes, what do you have to say about that?
Yes, I would like to do as much I can towards social causes. I am associated with an NGO `World Cancer Care` in Punjab. As cancer is very brutal in Punjab, I feel it’s my responsibility to contribute in whatever way I can. I actively take part in `Veerangna Punjab Club`, a women’s only club run by my elder sister in a village which works for the betterment of rural women and children. I’m also planning to work with anti-drug activists.
When are we seeing you next on the big screen?
Very soon! My Bollywood movie `Nastik` is soon going to be released. Besides that, I’m currently shooting two Punjabi movies.
