The Padua Forest Department has shut down four illegal sawmills in Lohagara. The equipment of the sawmills was seized in an operation led by Padua Forest Range Officer Md Saiful Islam on Wednesday morning.
It is learned that these sawmills were operating illegally in Kalauzan and Rubberdam areas of the upazila.
On Wednesday morning, a team of the forest department led by Padua Forest Range Officer Md Saiful Islam closed three sawmills in Kalaujan and one in Rubberdam area of the upazila.
Padua Forest Range Officer Md Saiful Islam said, 4 illegal sawmills were shut down due to lack of valid documents. He also said that the operation against illegal sawmills is continuing.
