Chattogram Bureau :
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has removed more than one hundred illegal footpath shops adjacent to T&T Colony on Agrabad Access Road of Double Mooring Police Station in the port city.
Besides, fine of Tk 14,000 has been levied on eight people for occupying the sidewalk at the corner of Lucky Plaza and running a fruit shop business.
A mobile court led by CCC Special Magistrate Jahanara Ferdous and Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly on Tuesday evicted and fined the shops.
Officers and employees of CCC and Chittagong Metropolitan Police assisted the magistrates during the operation.
Such operations will continue in the public interest, CCC officials said.
