BNP men’s illegal bana (bamboo fencing) at the both ends of the beel mostly owned by Hindu farmers was removed by the police at Falimari village of Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat on Tuesday afternoon.
Over hundred of Hindu farmers expressed their satisfactory after removing the illegal bana and they went their lands in the beel on Wednesday morning.
“Just now we are happy as our lands in the beel were freed from the clutch of musclemen. But we don’t know what will be happened in the future as the organised BNP men may be back on our lands again,” said local Hindu farmers at Falimari village.
A somoto order was issued under section 133 of Criminal Procedure CRPC for removing illegal bana put at the end of Dulali Beel by the Additional District Magistrate ADM Rezaul Alam Sarker on Momnday noon. Following a report was published in the Daily New Nation on 2 August , ADM issued the somoto order to implement it within 24 hours, court sources said said.
The Officer In-charge OC at Aditmari thana Aslam Iqbal said, police received the somoto order from ADM court on Monday evening and executed the order within 24 hours on Tuesday afternoon.
“We removed all bana puts at the end of Dulali beel in presence local farmers,” OC said adding police assured the security to the local Hindu farmers in the village.
