An Iftar party followed by discussion meeting was held at a posh restaurant in the city as arranged by International Islamic University , Chittagong on Tuesday .
The Iftar party was arranged in honour of the journalists . Vice Chancellor of IIUC Dr. AKM Azharul Islam presided the occasion.
Vice chancellor in his brief deliberations said beside the public universities in the country, private sector university launched their journey from very beginning of 1992. IIUC begins it academic activities since 1992.
Sources said there are five faculties comprising 12 Departments are continuing their curriculums . He also informed that now about 400 teachers are rendering t heir services in the university. At present permanent campus of IIUC is located in a scenic beauty enriched Kumira hillside area over 60 acres of land . The under constructing two 20-storied academic cum residential building where will have capacity to undergo study and residential accommodation for about 8000 students. In the secured complex , four thousand female students are continuing their studies in secured complex. In the university, two hundred foreign students, 319 non-Muslim students and 76 non-Muslim female students are undergoing their academic studies, sources said.
The discussion meet was told that since inception of IIUC, 7 international conference held in the IIUC duly participating the foreign teachers and researchers and the next such international conference is expected to held with joint auspices of Malaysia and Thailand, sources said.
