IGCC to celebrate its 8th anniversary tomorrow

Indira Gandhi Culture Centre will host a programme of music, dance, recitation and Yoga on Wednesday in celebration of its 8th anniversary.
The event will begin at 6.30pm at Main Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum, Shabagh. The programme will be presented by teachers and students of IGCC.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will attend the programme as the chief guest. High Commissioner of India Harsh Vardhan Shringla will also be present at the event.
The month of May is special as two great poets – Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam – were born in this month.
As a tribute to these great poets, IGCC teachers and students will present some recitations, songs and dances of the two poets, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
Choreographed by Manipuri dance teacher of IGCC Warda Rihab, two dances will be presented by her students – ‘Anandaloke…’ by senior students and ‘Aji Dhaner Khete Roudro Chhayay…” by junior students.
Under the guidance of Hindi teacher, Dr. Yogesh Vashista, Tagore’s song titled ‘Mera Matha Nat kar do….’ and Kazi Nazrul Islam’s poem ‘Kamal Pasha’ will be presented by Hindi students.
This will be followed by two items of Yoga asanas by junior and senior students under the direction of Yoga teacher Mampy Dey.
The last item by Kathak dance students, choreographed by IGCC Kathak dance teacher Munmun Ahmed will have three dance pieces.
The young ones will present “Holud Gadar Ful….”, another group will present ” Shukno Patay Nupur Paye…..” and two senior students, Ranabir and Riya, will present “Tomar Khola Haway….”.
At the end of the programme, certificates will be given to the students of IGCC who have completed their course successfully in the year 2017.
