Iftar items distributed among 500 distressed people

International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development formerly known as International Islamic Relief Organisation (IIRS) distributed Iftar items among 500 underprivileged persons at a function at Jatiya Press Club in the city on Saturday .
Distressed people from different part of the city received the basket of iftar which was selected earlier .
Former State Minister for Railway Mujibul Haq MP was present as Chief Guest while Dr Taha Omar Alkhateeb , Director General of Program and Welfare, International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development, Fahd M S Al-aharbi , Director of South Asia and Saad Al Quahtani, Religious Attaché of Saudi Embassy in Dhaka , Representative of King Salman Relief Centre Affairs Adviser Ali Al Mutail and The Daily Sakaler Somoy Editor Md Nur Hakim as special guests .
The Chief Guest appreciated the role of IIRS as an humantrain organisation and said Bangladesh is marching ahead led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina .
Special guest Dr Taha Omar Alkhatee said, Saudi Arabia always stands for the distressed people all over the world and it has been working in Bangladesh for the welfare of the people . He assured more cooperation in future .
Samajik Poribesh and Manobadikar Bastabayaon Sangstha (Society for Social Environment and Enforcement of Human Rights) coordinated the programmes.
Lion H M Ibrahim Bhuiyan, Chairman of Society for Social Environment and Enforcement of Human Rights presided over the programme.  
It is mentionable that it is a charity organization based in Saudi Arabia founded by the Muslim World League in 1978. It is a full member of The Conference of NGOs, where it serves on the board. The IIRO is included in a list of some of the UNHCR’s major NGO partners and has been involved in many joint programmes with UN agencies and intergovernmental such as World Health Organization and non-governmental organisations. It has enjoyed consultative status on the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 1995.
 It was the first Islamic NGO to gain observer status with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). It is also a member of the International Humanitarian City based in Dubai, UAE.
