The Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) has announced a year-long programme on the occasion of Golden Jubilee and Peoples Engineering Day-2020 with the theme ‘Blue economy will bring prosperity’.
They have announced the programme in line with the Mujib Year and the Golden Jubilee of Independence.
The formalities of Peoples Engineering Day-2020 and 50-year celebration of IDEB will start on November 8, 2020 and will continue till November 8, 2021, said a press release.
IDEB’s General Secretary Mohammad Shamsur Rahman announced the programme at a press conference in the capital’s Kakrail on Monday morning.
He said Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan and Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel will inaugurate a colorful rally at IDEB Bhaban in Dhaka on November 8 by releasing pigeons and balloons, it added.
On the same day, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will formally inaugurate the discussion meeting and the year-long program at 4 pm, he added.
The year-long program includes- organizing 100 seminars across the country, distribution of leaflets on tree plantation, planting 50,000 saplings across the country, construction and handing over of at least 50 houses to marginalized homeless, free IT advice, free basic skill training in all districts of the country.
The press conference highlighted the 50 years of organizational and institutional activities of IDEB as well as the important contribution of diploma engineers in building a prosperous Bangladesh.
Among others, central Vice-president AKM Abdul Mataleb, Joint Secretary Fazlur Rahman Khan, Public Relations and Publicity Secretary Sirajul Islam, Education and Training Secretary Ali Idris, ICT and Research Secretary Shahjahan Kabir, Organizing Secretary Rehan Mia and International Affairs Secretary Kamruzzaman Nayan were present.
