In observance of the “World Investor Week-2017” Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organized a seminar on “Prospects and Challenges of Development of Capital Market” on Tuesday at its Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in the city to aware of general investors, says a press release.
Professor Dr. M Khairul Hossain Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) was present as chief guest while Arif Khan FCMA, Past President of ICMAB and CEO and Managing Director of IDLC Finance Limited presented the keynote paper.
ICMAB President Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA presided over the meeting.
Professor Md. Helal Uddin Nizami and Professor Dr. Swapan Kumar Bala FCMA, Commissioners of BSEC and KAM Majedur Rahman, Managing Director of Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited were also present as discussants.
BSEC Chairman Dr. M Khairul Hossain said that the unwanted incident as occurred in 2010 in capital market will not happen in future since proper regulatory measures have already been taken by BSEC. He further added that investors’ confidence on the capital market restored following the regulatory reforms. He also added that one should invest in shares doing proper analysis of financial statements.
