The bowling actions of Taskin Ahmed and spinner Arafat Sunny are legal, according to a statement released by ICC on Friday. Bowling actions of Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny were in doubt during the ICC World Twenty20 2016 held in India.
Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny underwent the bowling action tests held at the National Cricket Centre Laboratory in Brisbane of Australia on September 8.
The results of the tests are in favour of the Bangladeshi pacer and the spinner.
So, ICC withdrew the ban against Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny. Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny have now no barrier to bowl in the international matches. Earlier, Chief Selector of BCB Minhajul Abedin Nannu said, “If Taskin Ahmed passes the bowling action test, he will be included in Bangladesh team against Afghanistan.”
Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny arrived in Brisbane almost two weeks ago. Head Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingha accompanied with them in Brisbane.
Bowling actions of Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny were in doubt during the ICC World Twenty20 2016 held in India. After that, they took part in the tests at Chennai in India. The results of the tests of their bowling actions were illegal. Thus, International Cricket Council (ICC) banned them for their illegal bowling actions.
Later, Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny worked hard to make their bowling action accurate.
Earlier, Taskin Ahmed said, “We are going with a positive mindset. We seek everyone’s blessings so that we can return to international cricket from the next home series. I believe we have put enough effort in the last four to five months.”
Earlier, Arafat Sunny said, “We have been toiling hard for the last few months. The review committee, our coaching staff and teammates have all inspired us. Our bowling actions are better. But there will be pressure as it is indeed a matter of an examination. Hopefully, if we can do our work properly, we will come back to international cricket.”
