ICAB gets new body

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has elected Md Shahadat Hossain as President and NKA Mobin, Sidharta Barua and Fouzia Haque as Vice Presidents of the institute for the year 2022.
The new office bearers of ICAB were elected by the members of the Council (new councillors) at the Council Meeting held on Wednesday, which was presided over by the current ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khusru.
Md Shahadat Hossain will take over as the President of ICAB on January 1, 2022.
Md Shahadat Hossain is a senior partner of MABS&J Partner, Chartered Accountants, and Board Director of Rajshahi WASA and Agrani Bank Limited.
A Council Member of ICAB since 2007, Hossain was the Vice President of ICAB in 2009 & 2011.
Hossain also worked as Member of National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) under Labour and Employment Ministry, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
He is a trainer on IFRS and a regular contributor to different dailies, periodical journals, TV talk shows, radio programs and roundtables.
Hossain authored three books- Bangabandhu O Bangladesher Arthonity, Muktir Shangram and Accountability for Economic Development. He was the Secretary of DRC-ICAB in 2004.
One of the new vice presidents, NKA Mobin is one of the sponsor Directors and the Managing Director & CEO of Emerging Credit Rating Limited (ECRL),
ECRL is a licensed Credit Rating Company in Bangladesh from BSEC established around 12.5 years back after having a technical collaboration agreement with Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhard (MARC) in 2009. He is rich in leadership quality and leading currently the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) as its Senior Vice-President since 2020..
