Sports Reporter :
Newly appointed Chairman of Cricket Operations Committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Director of BCB Jalal Yunus said, ” I have a plan about the selection committee of BCB. I shall tell my thinking at the Board Meeting of BCB.”
Jalal hinted that a change may be come.
There is a rumour that a selector of BCB is interested to pull out himself from the selection committee of BCB. The tenure of this selection committee was scheduled to come to an end on December 31.
Jalal said, ” As a series is going on and the President of BCB is out of the country, so, we shall take the decision about the change of a selector after some days.”
The issue of the change of the selection committee has arisen after Chief Selector of the BCB Minhajul Abedin Nannu remarked about Mohammad Ashraful that Ashraful is a ‘traitor’ and a spot-fixer. Nannu commented about Ashraful at a programme in a private television channel recently.
Earlier, Ashraful suggested that it would be better if the tenure of a selector of BCB would be three to four years. Ashraful stated it in an interview in a private television channel.
After that it have come a burning issue.
Then, Nannu said, ” Ashraful has no idea about the selection panel. A selector of Australia can work for nine to 12 years. But Australia Cricket team remain a good team.”
Nannu also said, ” We don’t need any proposal from a match-fixer and a traitor.”
Then, Ashraful gave a status on his Facebook recently. He wrote, ” I get pain after hearing the remark of Nannu Bhai. I was banned in the year of 2013. I accepted that I was involved with match-fixing. I begged pardon and I felt guilty. I was banned for a long time. But if I did not accept my fault, I would be banned one or two years and then, I could play for Bangladesh National Cricket team.”
